Julie Rinard

PMHNP-BC

Born and raised in Kansas City, Julie Rinard earned her bachelor’s degree from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2016. Her passion for mental health began as a high school student when she worked with geriatric dementia patients. She initially thought of becoming a psychologist but instead pursued nursing. As a nurse, Julie worked primarily in acute care hospital settings.

During the pandemic, Julie traveled to various cities including New York, Miami, New Orleans, Wichita and Los Angeles to care for patients in crisis.

During her work as a traveling nurse, Julie was deeply affected by witnessing the mental health issues experienced by patients in isolation. “This reinforced my belief in the strong connection between mental and physical health,” Julie said.

Julie sought graduate studies in psychiatric nursing through the University of Missouri – Columbia. “The most rewarding part of my work is seeing the positive changes in my patients and knowing that I have contributed to improving their lives,” Julie said.

She prefers a comprehensive approach to mental health, combining talk therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and medication management. Julie has experience working with children and adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, ADHD and anxiety disorders.

“I am passionate about helping families and individuals who face challenges in accessing quality mental health care,” Julie said.
